Every seat and bed cushion is hand-trimmed and available in a wide range of colours, so your interior can be matched to your exact vision. We also offer the Mobiframe seat bed system for the Ford Transit Custom, a versatile, TUV approved solution that has quickly become one of the most popular choices among our customers. What's the difference between SWB and LWB for a camper conversion?
The short wheelbase (L1) Transit Custom is the more popular choice for day vans and Kombi-style conversions where manoeuvrability and everyday usability matter. The long wheelbase (L2) gives you around 40cm of extra load length, which makes a noticeable difference if you want a larger kitchen, more storage or a more spacious living area for full-time touring. We convert both and can advise on which suits your intended use.
How long does a Ford Transit Custom conversion take?
A typical full conversion takes between 4 and 8 weeks depending on the spec and complexity of the build. More straightforward setups like a Kombi or day van conversion can be quicker, while fully bespoke off-grid builds with pop top roofs, custom electrics and leather upholstery will sit at the longer end. We’ll give you a clear timeline before any work begins.
Do I need to supply the van or can you source one for me?
You can bring your own van — whether it’s brand new from a dealer or a used vehicle you already own. If you’d prefer us to help source the right base vehicle, we’re happy to advise on what to look for in terms of spec, mileage and options that will suit your conversion.
Can I adapt one of your existing packages for the Transit Custom?
Absolutely. All of our pre-designed conversion packages including the Prestige Tourer, Grand Tourer and Mountain Tourer, can be fully adapted to fit the Ford Transit Custom. You can also mix and match elements from different packages or go completely bespoke if you have something specific in mind.
Can you fit a pop top roof to a Ford Transit Custom?
Yes, we supply and fit pop top elevating roofs to the Ford Transit Custom from leading manufacturers including Reimo, Westdubs and Austops. A pop top gives you additional headroom during the day and a comfortable upper sleeping area at night, making it possible to sleep up to four people in a standard Transit Custom conversion.
